Being traumatise with my continuous chain of bad experiences with helper since 2023, I was a disheartened employer who had lost faith in agent and especially helpers.
I feel that agents are just out there for business only. But well.. I do not have a choice but continue to look for one after another.
As a single busy working mum with spine and nerves compression conditions, I need an independent and responsible helper to clean the house and cook meals for my child.
When I found Christina some time in May 2024. I realised that she did not ask me to fill in any templated form, she called me instead and listen to all my needs and about my household.
No spamming of biodata right after the call ended, like how other agents did. It took a short while and I received ONLY 1 biodata. 😨
Christina filtered the helper with the skillset that I actually need which I missed mentioning to her during the call. This impressed me much; and this explained why I received only 1 biodata. Christina filtered the most suitable one for me.
During interview, instead of promoting her helper, she assisted me to shoot the helper with many questions that I missed. The interview allowed me to listen and get the realtime responses from the helper. And it’s the first time I felt in an interview that I get to know the helper. Rather than just yes / can / ok answers.
Being extra careful and my fears from past experiences, I could not make up my mind; I did not confirm the helper.
Christina was very patient, she did not hard sell. Neither tried to push another other helper to me immediately for more interviews.
After months, we had a last interview,, Christina still remembers every small details that I need as if she had create a file on me. We had went thru three helpers and I only confirmed an helper with her after so many months.

She had proven to me how seriously she holds her role and takes great ownership as a responsible agent. Christina had earn the trust from me by actions and not just by words.
It’s not about the agency fee, it’s not about the number of biodata that the agent can spam or number of free replacements we can get.
We need good agent to help filter the right helper that suit our needs; a good agent to assist us to resolve if there is any unforeseen issue during the employment.
